I'm a Bay Area Artist

Artist Statement/Biography

I am a native Californian. I grew up in a very artistic household in northern California. I have made art for over 60 decades and maintained a studio in San Jose where I have raised a family and worked since the 60’s. Since then, my work has taken many shapes and forms from paint used traditionally on canvas to 3-Dimensional assemblage/sculpture and monotypes. This fascination has stayed with me to this day.

I’ve been involved in the local art community in Silicon valley working in commercial and non-profit galleries, this has been a valuable experience and blessing, it has enhanced my own art and love of my community.

In the early 1990’s I was able to have a Griffin Press. It began the break-through I had been looking for. For several years I explored printmaking
This focus became every important concerning my ongoing investigation into Abstraction. Through this freeform painting on copper plates I was able to find the freedom of expression I was looking for. I have since returned to painting on canvas and paper. Today I work in Abstraction and Expressionism.

Throughout the many avenues I’ve taken in my art career I still feel honored to be called an artist, to work every day at the thing I love.
